We're proud to announce the release of our new album, The Electromagnetic Escape, June 24 at Bell's Brewery in Kalamazoo. The album is the result of the creative input and support of a great many, including of course all those that helped us make our Kickstarter goal and fund the project. More details to come soon!

Long time no talk, Pedheads! Well, we've been busy at work on the follow-up to our 2010 CD Adrift, and boy are we geeked! We've got 12 new original tunes cookin', and we can't wait for you all to hear them. Of course, we're going to have to wait a little while - There's still a lot of work to do, but we're hoping for an early summer release.

We rented a bunch of sweet audio gear, brought in our beloved sound-guru Ben Lau, and turned Ira's house into a recording studio for the better part of three weeks around Christmas and New Year's. A lot of the material is brand new to the band, much of it even being written and arranged int he studio. There's original tunes by 5 different songwriters, and we've been working with a wide variety of styles, from acoustic/traditional sounds to electric/rock stuff, and even some heavy classical influences on some tracks thanks to Rachel and Cori's mad compositional skills. Keys to the session's success included great food from the People's Food Co-op, an inspiring picture of John Campos dressed up like Peter Criss, lots of Jay-Z from Mike's IPod, and liberal use of the "bathroom mic" for the drum tracks. More updates about it to come!

The 2nd Annual Masquerade Ball was a blast, to say the least! Over 300 people showed up, decked out in some of the coolest masks and costumes we've ever seen. Orpheum Bell played a rockin' opening set, and our beloved sound-dude Ben Lau worked his butt off to keep the night running smooth and sounding good. Check out some pics by Joyce Walker, Melanie Shimmin, Rachel Flanigan, Bob Shimmin, and Rachel McCartney:

We're proud to be featured on the cover of this week's Kalamazoo Gazette "Ticket" section. Thanks to John Liberty, John Lacko, and Simon Thalmann. We had a super fun photo shoot at the Michigan Maritime Museum in South Haven, upon the Wilhelm Baum and Evelyn S. ships, and no one got seasick. A success! Check out the article here.

Our new album, Adrift, is on it's way! From Ira's wood-heated house, to Rachel and Ian's attic, to Western Sound Studios, and finally to 1/2" analog tape at Glenn Brown's in Lansing. Many long hours have been spent creating this baby, and we sure are proud. Here are the stats: Twelve songs, four songwriters, months, six band members' intense devotion, two wonderful musical guests, four geeked-out audio engineers, one sleep-deprived graphic designer, and no less than three Pedestrians playing a pump organ at one time. Come celebrate with us at our April 23 CD release show at Bell's Brewery!

Well, our epic recording week is over, and we can't describe how happy we are with the tracks! We turned Ira's house into a recording studio for a week, brought in engineer supreme Ben Lao, and got to playin'. We recorded a few newer tunes we've been playing live for a while (Jewbacca, We'll Be Sky), as well as a lot of brand new tunes (Conversations, The Dirty Hora, Happy To Move With You, Picture in a Locket, Sacrilege, I Xenitia, The Bismarck Waltz...). Pics from the session are up on our facebook page,. Thanks to everyone who helped us do this (Ben Lao, John Campos, Bryan Heany, Martin Klemm, and The People's Food Co-op).

Hopefully, we'll get this thing out by the spring! Now, for overdubs...

Hey, Grand Rapids fans! Our CDs are now available at Vertigo Records and Schuler's Books and Music. As always, you can get them from Itunes and CD Baby, as well.

On the visual side of things, you might notice some changes to our site design. Many thanks to Kate Peterson (From Nervous But Excited) for lending her creative eye to our little webspace.

We're also getting excited for the new record, which we start work on next month. . Lots of new material coming together for it, and everyone's been bringing songs to the table. A couple of tunes we've been playing live for a while ("Jewbacca", "We'll Be Sky") are going to be on, too. We can't wait to get a new full-length CD out there!

We had such a blast playing the Michigan Theater last night, as part of the 4th annual Jeff Daniels and Friends concert. We packed four tunes into our 15 minutes, and dare I say we rocked it. Everyone brought their A-game: Shout Sister Shout, The Ben Daniels Band, Paul Princen, The Scotville Clown Band, and of course Jeff Daniels himself. Here's a review of the night, from annarbor.com

The Devil's Night Masquerade Ball was an amazing time! Thanks to everyone who came out, and we've got to say the masks and costumes were incredible, as were The New Sprites.

Thanks also to Hether Frayer and Sheri Lynne Simah for taking some great pictures!

Looking forward, we're excited about some upcoming shows, especially the Devil's Night Masquerade Ball at Bell's, and Jeff Daniels and Friends at The Michigan Theater.
